What I notice is something about "fluid". Anyone know what this means?

Code:

I don't know if that was meant to help, but it didn't.

Second result:
fluid - the fast light user-interface designer
fluid is an interactive GUI designer for FLTK.

So apparently, you need FLTK installed, because the windows are made using that. Fluid is than used to compile it.

Cool, thanks. I appreciate the extra verbosity. :P

I will check out fltk next time I boot into the Gentoo partition on this machine.

But fluid is not. Maybe it's a separate package?

I did emerge --search fluid and all that came up was fluidsynth - not what I need here (although I emerged fluidsynth because I wanted it anyway).

--searched fftw too, and only fftw comes up.

This version is from the pro-audio overlay. I'm going to see what happens with

Code:

emerge -pv1 =zynaddsubfx-2.2.1-r4

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  NS   ] x11-libs/fltk-1.1.9 [2.0_pre6786] USE="threads -doc -examples -games -opengl -xft -xinerama" 2,155 kB
[ebuild  N    ] media-sound/zynaddsubfx-2.2.1-r4  USE="alsa jack -oss" 906 kB
