Hi.
You have to include support for the ethernet card in your kernel. This means you'll have to build and install a new kernel.
You may need to refer to the handbook (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=7) to get it right.
According to Asus your NIC is an Marvell 88E1116, so pick the Marvell driver and you should be good to go.

I cant really explain you that in NIC they have mentioned Marvell bt they gave me the CD of Nvidia Ethernet,
as on tht icon of LAN also it shows NVIDIA...
I dont know the command or how to install network card driver on Gentoo. as its works fine in Windows Vista 64bit.
i have tried using Gentoo AMD64 handbook bt i didnt get any + results. |

The NIC is a Marvell - Asus knows
You have to familiarize yourself with configuring and building a kernel. This (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-kernel.xml) might help.
Read that and try it out. |
