could someone please tell me whats involved in changing the compiler portage uses from gcc to icc after its been emerged, is it a simple matter of emergeing it then modifying the make.conf if so please tell me what modifications to use

it won't work
only a few things will compile with icc since it doesn't fully support gnu extensions to c |

There has been an attempt to have all ebuilds that work with icc have "icc" as a possible USE-setting. Perhaps setting "ic" in your USE-flag automatically makes Portage use icc on those ebuilds? |
