|

I have been looking at old posts for awhile, they all seem sort of incoherrant.
I have a Leadtek Winfast 2000/Deluxe remote, and I know it works in Linux, various people got it to work.
What exactly needs to be done for this to work. I have emerged lircd, gotten the config for my remote off of their site and loaded the module lirc_gpio and ran the lircd script with no errors.
I have a /dev/lirc/0, but I can't cat it, I get an input/ouput error.
Any help. |

okay... i have it working, but the config off of the website didnt work.
So I used irrecord, and it gave me values for all the buttons.
The problem is, that it gave the same value for a few of the buttons.....
Any suggestions? |

Noticed your post here of success; however I could use a few more details. Did you use the included IR cable and the port within the card (probalby something I'm having a little trouble getting irrecord to do anything. If I were to compile it myself and follow the how to at least I would know where stuff ended up, but I'm new to gentoo and I'm having trouble finding things. Can you let me know what you did with enough detail to repeat it so I can get my Leadtek 2000 going too? |

That's not terribly uncommon, especially for remotes that offer functionality for several devices (i.e. if it controls DVDs as well as TV the menu navigation buttons may have the same codes as the TV channel buttons). I would think that wouldn't happen with a remote included with a TV card, though... |

usingloser, I was just wondering if you have all the buttons on the remote working (i.e. PIP, Boss Key, Sleep, red/green/yellow/blue etc.)? |

use lirc 0.7. that will allow you to detect all the buttons with irrecord. I had to irrecord my winfast xp 2000 delux because the config that came with lirc 0.7 did not work for the extra buttons. You can try my config or irrecord yourself refer to this thread for help with setting up lirc 0.7 [url]https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=131614&highlight=winfast+2000
good luck!

# Erik's config did not correctly detect the extra buttons on the
