Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 2100 laptop and sometimes it just shut itself down midway through the compilation of kernel. It doesn't always happen, but it has happened a few times. It also only happens when compiling kernel. Whe compiling other things, it is fine.
Why?
Thank you. |

Nope... Hhehe
AC is on.
I left my laptop on overnight compiling boostrap last night and it didn't shut down. However, it shuts down sometimes compiling kernel.

Although I haven't seen the behaviour with laptops, it could be that the CPU is getting too hot, making the system shut down itself.
Do you receive any messages in the system logs? |
