I know there's a couple of topic about courier-mta login, but setting up my mail server with virtual account on mayl server is getting my crazy! 
starting from this guide do everything step by step (except the installation  ) but now i cannot login to my server via pop3.
courier-imap (courier-mta-1.7.3-r1) is started with pop3d;
mysql (mysql-4.0.13-r3) started;
mysql let me access with the login i set up for courier;
i emerged mysql with USE='-perl', cz of the well known problem with perl packages
any help please? |

from what you've said, i have no clue as to what your problem is, but I know from personal experience (i'm running a tweaked version of it) that the gentoo hosted howto works, using courier-imap and mysql.

this allows you virtual users and virtual domains...just a thought
