OK, I just upgraded my Mobo to an Nforce2 board which has 2 onboard nics. My current nic is a PCI realtek which uses the 8139too module. Ok, how do I get the two onboard nics to work. I would like to use the Gigabit nic for eth0 and use the other one as eth1 and get rid of my PCI nic all together. How would I go about redefining where the system looks for eth0 and also adding eth1. Would I just add nvnet to my modules.autoload to get the 100mbit one working? Also, what module do I need for the Gigabit interface? I think I would need the intel e1000 but I am not positive. Any ideas? |

well for the nforce network, just emerge nforce-net
add nvnet to modules
away you go
that should then come up as eth0, because your realtek will no longer be detected.
not sure abou the gigabit _________________ Kororaa install method - have Gentoo up and running quickly and easily, fully automated with an installer! |
