|
|
Hi, please can someone tell me how to output text to a file? I mean for example if I do lsmod, or lspci (or whatever) how do I write the output to a text file that can be read later? I think I recall someone saying before that this was possible, but I've forgotten how to do it now.
Also, where on the live CD does Gentoo keep information about the modules it uses during boot time? Basically I want to copy this file to my real gentoo install and use it to automatically loaed all of my needed modules during boot time. The live CD has excellent hardware detection, so I am hopeful I can emulate this in my final install.
All advice is extremely welcome.

Ah, the wonders of CLI.
lsmod > lsmod.out |

Well yes, it was a bit hard to see, but I figured it out. I just did modprobe > modprobe.bak on the cd and edited it/renamed it modules.autoload for my rea gentoo install.
Thanks again...
