|
|
Just installed Gentoo, went to do my first emerge rsync so I could start installing stuff and it just sits there.... and sits there... and sits there.
I can ping and ssh out to the world, but rsync doesn't do anything, neither does a straight "emerge packagename"
any ideas?
thanks

I have no professional advice, unfortunately. I did an rsync the other day that took three minutes to give any output at all (before the actual sync takes place). I was watching a movie, though, and didnt want to get back up to cancel it.
How long has it been waiting? _________________ --

yeah -- no output whatsoever. I'd think that I don't have networking set up or something, expect that ping and ssh work fine.... I'm not even sure what else to try and rule out to narrow down what the issue could be.
