I am just curious as too what the "-pipe -O3" means? What happens if you change -O3 to -O2?
I know this is probably I stupid question and I did some googling but just didn't find a good explanation.

I remember reading about that when I installed gentoo. It was in the middle of some *huge* thread about USE-flags. If you search the forums for USE-flags related keywords, it's probably the biggest thread in the list.
I can't remember exactly what the difference was, but I decided it wasn't worth investigating further. I don't think it's worth your time. Just pick one. I picked O3 and it works for me.  |
