Potential new system

Unless you have hardware from a company known to be outright hostile to Linux, you should be able to use almost any system you put together with Gentoo.

I recommend checking out Pappy's kernel seeds. In addition to his kernel seeds being a great help in configuring a system, Pappy is a veritable sage.
