PostPosted: Fri Nov 13, 2009 9:05 pm    Post subject: xinerama violent crash Reply with quote

Hello,
I'm using an Intel card with i915 module. My little brother recently gave me that 17' screen that he didn't use.
So, I tweaked my xorg.conf, added a Monitor, a Screen, and a Device section.
I changed the ServerLayout.

At this point, X could launch, but displayed the same thing on both screens, with resolution problems on the new one.
When I added Option "Xinerama" "true" to ServerFlags, starting X resulted in a crash.
Disabling it would make X work again.

Code:

Section "ServerLayout"
   Identifier     "X.org"
   Screen      0  "Screen0" 0 0
   Screen   1   "Screen1" RightOf "Screen0"
EndSection

Added that Monitor Section
Code:

Section "Monitor"
   Identifier   "MonitorFixe"
   VendorName   "Hyundai"
   ModelName   "Monitor Model2"
EndSection

These are the device sections :
Code:

Section "Device"
        ### Available Driver options are:-

        ### <string>: "String", <freq>: "<f> Hz/kHz/MHz"

lspci -v gives that information :
