Hi. I have just split my mythtv setup into a separate backend & frontend but keep getting the following error on trying to load the frontend.
Code:
Time zone settings on the master backend differ from those on this system.
2009-07-23 02:22:43.861 Detected time zone settings:
Master: Zone ID: 'Europe/Belfast', UTC Offset: '3600', Current Time: '2009-07-23T02:22:43'
Local: Zone ID: 'Europe/London', UTC Offset: '3600', Current Time: '2009-07-23T02:22:43'

2009-07-23 02:22:43.861 The time and/or time zone settings on this system do not match those in use on the master backend. Please ensure all frontend and backend systems are configured to use the same time zone and have the current time properly set.

I have no idea where it is getting the Europe/Belfast from on the backend. I have deleted /etc/localtime and copied Europe/London again but no go and have added TIMEZONE="Europe/London" to /etc/conf.d/hwclock on both but still no go.

Where else could the backend be getting Europe/Belfast from?

Cheers

Well I'll answer my own question in case anyone else stumbles onto this...

You need to make /etc/localtime asymlink rather than copying as per the gentoo handbook. Then the timezones will show correctly in mythtv.
