Well, I must say first that I have no good skills in video stuffs. But I have couple videos, that are in dvd format.I want to publish these on a blog, but I cant seem to find a good way of doing the job.
This is what I have tried so far, one way I have tried few commercial products and end quailty of the flv file got really bad.
So I decided to avoid totally the commercial products as it needs a reboot on window, so a little googling turned out ffmpeg and acidrip, so changed dvd to avi with acidrip...and later on I run on the command line the following line:

Code:
 ffmpeg -i oil3.avi -ar 44100 oil3.flv

Quality is still bad...

Any one with a better idea how to do this job on my gentoo box?Preferably with a tool from portage

Thanks for the help...

P:S
I have read the FAQ :P

Edit:
Quote:
ffmpeg -i file.avi -ar 22050 -ab 32 -f flv -s 1600x1050 file.flv

I am trying this to see if I will get some improvements by increasing resolution...

this avidemux seemed to be making good flv files with great picture quality, but size is too big and its missing audio. It throws like "Trouble Initiliazing audio device"...and living this on the terminal:
