I'm trying to install gentoo on my x86. How can I capture the boot messages I'm getting so I can post them on here for help. I'm still pretty new to Linux. I've gotten Gentoo installed, but when I reboot, I get the "Kernel Panic! Attempted to kill init" message. How can I capture the bootlog so I can post it here?
Thanks. |

Try the terminal command "dmesg". Dmesg is used to examine or control the kernel ring buffer.
If you want to save the output to a file, try the following:
Code: | dmesg > boot.messages |
Good luck,
