Hey all, I recently installed gentoo on my laptop last week, and my eth1 (wlan) doesnt work after a certain amount of time
my wireless card is a Lan-Express 802.11b PCI card. I'm using gentoo-sources, and i compiled the orinoco driver for it. It works fine for maybe up to an hour or so, and then it just dies, for no reason. eth1 interface stays up, but the driver itself dies
I read on the internet that I need the orinoco_pci module instead of the orinoco module, and so where can I get this module, and how would i compile it into my kernel (if this is the problem) ?

okay so i found the orinoco_pci moule in my current kernel and im using it, but it still doesn't solve the problem. I found that if I download at high bandwidth, like 200 KB/s and up, it will crash for some reason
This is seriously a pisser offer _________________ -Steve Bularca-

okay, I'm finally convinced which modules to use, they are:
orinoco_pci
orinoco
hermes
Knoppix liveCD used these and it works perfect. I modularized those three in the kernel, and loaded them, but eth1 still refuses to bring itself up...why? It simply says:
Bringing eth1 up ...
Failed to bring eth1 up!!! _________________ -Steve Bularca-
