Guys I struggle massively at the moment.
Tried to follow the wireless sertup but I got the message that +svg has to be added to the options so I went into the config file and did so. No I get error messages that the make.conf shouldn't have this option enabled.
I also struggle with the configuration now itself. I seem to completely have lost it. Any ideas? I'm currently downloading the Live DVD and see if that can help me somehow. I'm really lost now |

No worry
I would suggest you open a post under the networking section with the following details:
error messages and where do you get stuck?
What card is it and does it need any additional firmware? dmesg? I know it's some thinkpad but we are lazy
iwconfig <- needs wireless-tools emerged
ifconfig
emerge --info
cat /etc/conf.d/net
if you use wpa_supplicant, maybe the /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf ?
hope this helps... _________________ Gentoo on Uptime Project - Larry is a cow |

Card: Intel 3945ABG
Well when I tried to follow the wireless guide gentoo said it needed an option +svg or so because it wouldn't emerge the wpa_applicant application. But with it in the flag file it throws error messages.
I have no clue what information is needed and am lost from start to finish. |

It would be very helpful if you posted the actual error message. I presume you put +svg in your $USE variable literally. Delete the '+' character and try again. I am not certain it will work and I cannot check because I don't have a Gentoo installation at hand. |

That's it. Set +SVG and gentoo says it shouldn't be flagged with +svg. Will delte the + and yes it's in use variable. |
