Hi,
I cannot adjust the volume of the playback in audacious
Currently I am using alsamixer for that purpose...
What could cause that problem?
Thank you very much.
revdep-rebuild does not complain
I am using
media-sound/audacious-1.5.1-r1
media-sound/alsa-utils-1.0.19-r2
media-sound/alsa-headers-1.0.19
media-sound/alsa-tools-1.0.19
media-plugins/alsa-plugins-1.0.19
media-libs/alsa-oss-1.0.17
media-libs/alsa-lib-1.0.19 |

What do you mean «can't adjust the volume»? Is the volume slider unmovable? Or is it not displayed? Or does it move but the volume doesn't change? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

It is displayed,
I can move it,
the modified volume level is displayed in the "autoscoll display" of audacious while I am trying to change the volume level,
but the actual volume does not change...
Presumably the message from audacious to the driver? is lost in some way without audacious noticing it. (Just a wild guess) |

Or audacious didn't select the right thing for volume management. I know there are some applications that allow you to select what volume will be adjusted: master, PCM... Does audacious have such a feature? Otherwise you might want to change this setting against your audio properties. What desktop manager do you run? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

audacious

solved it.
There was a really strange entry with unrecognizable symbols...
Thanks for pointing me there... should have searched there in the first place... |
