uvesafb with silent splash

Hi,

I am using uvesafb for a while now, no problems with it. Now I tried to further improve the appearance of the startup screen by a spash image. I followed the instruction given in http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Fbsplash, which worked also fine. Then I tried to change from verbose to silent splash, which also worked until X was started. Instead of KDE, I saw only a black screen. Switching to a console via control+alt+f1 worked. Restarting xdm not. /var/log/Xorg.0.log says:
