Folks -
Running fluxbox 0.1.14-r1 and aterm 0.4.2-r4. I have transparency enabled for both, and it works fine, except for one minor issue.
I have two aterms launched when fluxbox starts. When the window manager appears, both aterms have black backgrounds. If I move them, they become transparent, as they should. But when they start up, they're solid.
Relevant section of .xinitirc:
Code: |
fluxbox & wmpid=$!
/usr/bin/aterm -tr -geometry 80x49+0+31 &
/usr/bin/aterm -tr -geometry 80x49+511+31 &
wait $wmpid

Can anyone offer me some assistance? It's not a killer problem, but it's definetly an annoyance. |

what tool do you use to set the background image? i use Esetroot (eterm ebuild) and it works perfectly ... _________________ A mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems. ~ Alfred Renyi (*1921 - †1970) |

i have had the same problem. i think it because the aterm starts before flux draws the background.. so perhaps giving a pause in the file between starting flux and startign the aterm would solve the issue. _________________ "That which is overdesigned, too highly

I have a similar problem - i have a script which loads all my aterms in the right positions - and i actually run i after flux and everything has loaded - excpet competely randomly - either one, both, or neither will have transparency done properly. Now that i use borderless aterms someties they dont even go borderless.
Its very weird.. usually i just clos ethem and rerun the script and they start up okay _________________ "The box said to install Windows 95, NT or better.... so in installed linux" |
