Ho un lettore di schede SD che funziona benissimo (testato con Ubuntu), ma su Gentoo non riesco a utilizzarlo. Ho attivato nel kernel il modulo necessario (quello riguardante i lettori Ricoh), ma quando inserisco una scheda il kernel sembra comunque non accorgersene (dmesg non mostra nulla di nuovo).
Posto la sezione di lshw riguardante il lettore (come si vede il device è UNCLAIMED, il che non ho ben capito che cosa significhi, ma credo che non sia una cosa bella):

Che cosa posso fare?
Un altro metodo per accedere alle fotografie della mia macchina fotografica è quello di collegarla al computer tramite cavo. E qui, ancora più strano: collego la macchina e il kernel se ne accorge (output di dmesg):

Solo che a questo punto non so che cosa fare... Non trovo alcun file riguardante la macchina in /dev e KDE4, che in genere vede tutto, non dice nulla riguardo a una memoria di massa o una macchina fotografica attaccata. Però, se vado nel system settings di KDE4, nella scheda Avanzate, in Macchina fotografica digitale, la trovo lì e posso anche visualizzarne tutte le impostazioni, perfino la lunghezza focale e la modalità di messa a fuoco - segno che la macchina è riconosciuta perfettamente. Però non trovo alcun modo per montare la scheda di memoria inserita nella macchina per visualizzarne il contenuto.

Grazie, ho risolto.
Effettivamente mancava nel kernel l'ultima opzione che mi hai detto. Non so, mi sarò dimenticato.
Per la macchina, ora che funziona il lettore di schede, non mi interessa più.
