Hi,
This is a question to other gentoo and Spotify users. I've had some troubles lately with the music skipping now and then, probably since a spotify client update. I've tried both newer and older wine-versions, ALSA and OSS (emulation I think) in wine and different settings, but nothing seems to help. One site suggested modying the alsa buffer might help but I'm not sure how and it doesn't seem to work for everyone. Does anyybody else here use spotify? How does it work for you? Anyone with the same problem or tips how to solve it?
TIP:
If you can't sign up for spotify directly from your country, use a proxy like:
http://spotify.rejected.se/?proxy
Once you've used it, you can't live without it. There is no linux-version but is semi-officially supported under wine.

Haven't had time to test but according to this forum the choppy sound is related to a kernel bug which is fixed in 2.6.31. So it seems like this is solved. |

Maybe
I've found this spotify thing two days ago and have been playing with it a bit. I haven't found a single problem with it, so far, it seems to work without a glitch under wine, I use a .28 kernel though. |

Had no issues with my .28 kernel and it's working fine on three laptops running .30 aswell. |

I finally solved this problem by downgrading to 2.6.28 so this was definitely a kernel problem which should be solved in 2.6.31. |
