I just installed gentoo on a Ti Powerbook....The install seemed to go ok until I rebooted. When I try to login at the prompt nothing but gibberish appears as I type.....I thought it might be the keyboard mapping and rebooted with the CD but in the RC script it has 'us' as the mappings...
Any suggestions?
Thanks |

Change the setting of "Support for ADB raw keycodes" in your kernel configuration. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

I checked and it was enabled in my kernel...Noticed it was dectected and loaded during boot up also....The enter key shows 's' when it is pressed and it doesnt even get to the password prompt.

Perhaps I should have been more explicit: turn off support for raw ADB keycodes. It is not your friend. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

Try changing 'us' to 'mac-us'
I had the same problem via a apple pro usb keyboard...
Which reminds me of a problem I've been having lately with Shift+BackSpace showing up with a '~' rather than deleting to the left. |

I changed my keymapping to mac-us and it works okay, except that on my Lombard, I can't get the function keys to work (You have to press the function key plus the F keys).
Very frustratng. _________________ ~karasu |

emerge sys-apps/pbbuttonsd/
edit /etc/pbbuttons.conf
the last line, you can choose:
xkbdmode = fkeysfirst (brightness/sound/etc. come first) or
xkbdmode = fkeyslast (no longer have to mess with that pesky Fn key) |
