ext3 just died

I'm fixing my ext3 partition which corrupted when I had to hard reset while doing mass file transfer over the network. My music/mp3s/ directory was the one undergoing traffic when I had to hard reset and has subsequently dissappeared.

I ran fsck, said yes to everything, it did some strange stuff, but to no avail, all my mp3s were gone.

So I remembered that I had just reformatted the partition this weekend and had backed everything up on my NTFS partition. I'm back in Windows, running a file recovery utility, hoping my file installations haven't overwritten the original data, but it ran into a cyclic redundancy error. I am so screwed

anyways sucks about the music...i'd give you ftp access but i'm on a 12 kB upload and all my files are lossless - that might take a while...
