I noticed a couple of minutes ago that the forums does not maintain my log in status. It takes me at least two tries before the forum accepts my login. Moreover, the "Log me on automatically on each visit" button is ineffective. As soon as I even change to a new page in the forum I am logged out again.
I have cleared all the cookies which have the name "gentoo" in them. This problem is reproducible in both opera-10.0 beta3 and firefox-3.5.2. _________________ emerge --quiet redefined | E17 vids: I, II | Now using kde5 | e is unstable :-/ |

I just had that as well even after clearing all cookies. I never saw that strange behavior before.
Hopefully it was a one time deal |

It was due to a problem with a query, should be working now. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

Seems like the problem is back. I had to login over ten times to get this post out .. (and yes, I even tried different browsers) |

It still isn't working for me. Also, I put a thread on OTW, which seems to be disappearing and re-appearing. When I thought it wasn't there, I resubmitted it (meaning there are two now), but I'm not able to delete one because of the weird login issue. _________________ "I cannot support a movement that exploded spending and borrowing and blames its successor for the debt."

same problem
my guess is the loadbalancer. as I had a similar experience, when somebody installed a loadbalancer on my side, and most (even all) session-based webapps (forum, e-banking) would stop working. forcing the connection through vpn solved that problem then, but does not work here....
just my .02$

edit: 23:00 GMT+2 - situation seems to have normalized. I am going to observe for the next few days.
edit2: August 21st, 10:00 GMT+2 - I observed no more issues over the past days. I consider the problem solved. |

There were more problems with the databases not being kept properly synchronized, it should be working again now. |

It is due to the sensitivity of master-master database replication with respect to duplicate entries in columns which are supposed to contain at most one entry of any given value.
The last currently known offending section of code has been modified to work around the problem, a more robust fix may be implemented if the current approach proves inadequate. |

Hello there,
Today I had to fill in my username & password about 5 times to log in.
Right after that I got a Spam PM.
I don't know wether its a coincidence or just bad luck? Maybe someone else made this experience? _________________ knowledge is power |

From the main forum, it shows new posts in sub forum,
but when you go to the sub forums, then no new posts show.
Sometimes I click on a thread and it shows nothing,
or I click on the last post in a thread and it says it does not exist.
And I just got a notification of a new email, that when I clicked on the mail section showed nothing.
This is all in the last few hours and this is just a heads up for someone to monitor the system.

Yeah, something is wrong for sure. Maybe the database is bugged?
When I clicked your message I got: "The topic or post you requested does not exist". Reloading it a couple of minutes later showed your message again. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam. This is bowling. There are rules.

I'm having this problem right now. Reloading a page keeps switching me between logged in and logged out states. When I click on "answer" or "quote", I often get "message doesn't exist" page. Reloading several times helps. |

Same here, I didn't count relogin tries tho, but at least five. Did not notice spam first, but seems there is one spam in PM. |
