Exploit root through chat client? If I change su config

I am the only user to my pc and I live alone in my house. I would like to set my su config to where I don't need to use a password when su to root. I use the freenode alot. I never run my chat client from my root account, only from my non root account. If I was to set my su config to where I don't need a password to su to root, can someone on the freenode exploit root through my chat client(irssi)?

That depends on any security issues with irssi, but acquiring root privileges without using a password can never be considered safe.
