Hey,
Does anyone have any ideas for decent software for an IMAP proxy which can a) do SSL stuff and b) filter out mailboxes from LIST commands and c) turn LIST into LSUB (iPhone woes).
Anything out there already which does this sort of thing?

If you've ever used an iPhone to connect to an IMAP server you'll know why there's a need for such a thing. The iPhone doesn't support LSUB it just does LIST instead which means there's no notion of subscribed folders at all, which is really annoying!

Try to see "Cyrus IMAP's imapmagicplus" plugin.
I usually use dovecot as imap server, so you can configure a separate user for iphones. Using imap namespaces you can do a lot of things... (for example creating 2 users for any account, john and john_iphone that shares the same maildir but different namespaces)
