Well, hello there,
I've installed Gentoo in a USB HDD drive, in order to have some protability between my computers (and also use it as a tool on other computers). The problem is that, each time I mount the hdd on a Windows system (I think NT6.0+) the label (created by e2label) magically disappears! Anyone else having the same problem and/or a solution for this? Cause its nasty (and requires a recovery boot from another drive just to recreate the label all the time)
Thanks in advance,

You could use UUIDs instead and see if the problem persists. AFAIK UUIDs do not change unless you reformat a partition.
So instead of LABEL= you use UUID=; you can determine UUIDs by running blkid. |
