Hi, I hope this isn't an overly asked question, if it is I apologize, it's driving me nuts.
I'm trying to install Gentoo, I downloaded the 'livecd-amd64-installer-2008.0-r1.iso'. Everything appears to boot and load properly(no red 'No' display during the loading process), but when x-server tries to load it says it can't find a display output(not sure of the exact text, I can get it if it helps more). It detects the graphics card(Nvidia 9650m GT) fine. I'm trying to install it on a Asus laptop, specs are more than capable of running Gentoo. I'll admit I'm no expert at linux, but want to learn. I'm hoping someone can help me more than saying 'Here's a link to the install docs', I'm hoping someone will help me debug this and figure out why I cant load the GUI(or the LiveCD for that matter).
Thanks! |

If you have follow the handbook and still have problems, do not hesitate to come back for more help. If you do, post the section of the handbook that is giving you trouble, the errors or warnings that you encountered, and describe any steps you have taken that deviate from the handbook. |
