I am the "lucky" owner of an HP Pavilion tx 2520au laptop. The integrated broadcom wireless gave me already a lot of headache. Ndiswrapper initializes the wifi card and I can connect to networks, but its a question of minutes until the kernel crashes. Recent updates (kernel and ndiswrapper), didn't make it better. The b43 or b43legacy remains a mystery for me - didn't work either (yes firmware is there, no error but no device).

The broadcom-sta driver finally did the job for me, I was able to use my wireless. But recently after upgrading to Kernel 2.6.30 I had to update to the latest Broadcom-sta driver series as well.

Now when I use ssh, there is a big delay. Its like "stuttering". The throughput is very low too, what I have measured less than 1 MBit/s..

What I currently using is this version
net-wireless/broadcom-sta-5.10.91.9-r6

And this is my lspci output
08:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation Device 432b (rev 01)

Maybe its related to kernel/irq options. I am really frustrated and have no clue. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Holger

Post your current kernel .config, the results of lspci -n and cat /proc/cpuinfo as well as your /etc/fstab file, and I'll take a look.

Blessed be!
