I have just built kernel gentoo-sources-2.6.31 and attempted to compile madwifi-ng-0.9.4.4030.20090529 against it and get:
CC [M] /var/tmp/portage/net-wireless/madwifi-ng-0.9.4.4030.20090529/work/madwifi-0.9.4-r4030-20090529/net80211/ieee80211_linux.o

Searching doesn't throw up anything. Anybody any ideas?

I think the ath5k driver in the kernel is supposed to replace the madwifi-ng package. |

Yes, I realised that later. I stopped using madwifi some months ago but, after a 48 hour upgrade saga, I was blindly following the output of "module-rebuild list". Similarly, you no longer need the x11-base/x11-drm package, most of the drivers are now in the kernel. _________________ "Ship me somewheres east of Suez, where the best is like the worst,
