...well...sometimes it is - but mostly not...
Stange and annoying...
I use evolution as my e-mail client.
The view is the classic one with message preview if that should matter.
As you know you can adjust the width and height of each part of the window.
On the left part there are the folders and at the bottom the buttons for contacts/tasks/calendar/notes.
The right part is divided horizontally to show from/subject/date in the upper part and the message itself in the lower part.
How much space is given to each area can be adjusted by grabbing and sliding the dividing lines with the mouse (don't know how to say this better).
What annoys me is:
the so configured layout does not stick - when evolution is closed and re-opened I have to adjust this again.
What is more annoying:
this does not always happen - sometimes it comes back the way I adjusted it to - but more often than not it doesn't.
I see no pattern - but most of the time it opens with (default?) settings for the width and height of the 3 panes - which for the left pane is too small to read the folders names.
The horizontal adjustment also does not stay where I adjusted it to.
Is this normal? Any place/option I overlooked?
Is this not to be stored somewhere automatically on close?
I run a gnome desktop (gnome-base/gnome-light-2.26 plus some additional programs) under openbox as the WM.
But when I used the default metacity WM this was the same.
I just found this description of default values:
http://www.gnome.org/~bmsmith/gconf-docs/C/evolution-mail.html
If I open the configuration-editor and go to:
/schemas/apps/evolution/mail/display/
all the values are empty.
Has anyone noticed this and knows how to fix it? _________________ Cheers |
