I am completely new to the Fibre Channel scene.

I have a QLogic ISP2313 card, and a FAS270 with 14 drives.
I'd like to get the FAS270 configured with each drive in a raid0 configuration - so I'd have 1 logical drive for each physical drive.
Then I'd like to get the FAS270 talking with the server.

So far, I can get the two talking with each other...but something is not working correctly.
To connect the two devices I have a brand new never used fibre cable connecting the two directly to each other (ie, I am not currently using a switch).
(At the moment, I can not access the system to view the logs & get other details, so my following statements are whatever I can remember off the top of my head.)
The qlogic card sees the link is up, does some bus resetting, sees whatever logical drives the FAS270 is currently configured with, says something about scsi generic device sg7 (it does create /dev/sg7)...then says link is down & starts the process all over again. (I seem to recall a number of LIP UP, LIP DOWN, LIP RESET statements). Finally, after cycling through again once or twice, it gives up.

I keep my kernels as lean as possible so if there are things to turn on in the kernel config beyond qla2xxx, I wouldn't know to turn them on...

I will get required details tomorrow (and modprobe qla2xxx with debugging turned on...etc).
In the mean time, is there anybody who can offer some high level tips, appropriate for a Fibre Channel newbie?

Thanks for any spare moments you can afford.
