avidemux-2.5.1-r1 misses some plugins, like x264 codec option in 'video' section, although it is compiled with x264 flag.
any ideas?

Same here, but I never noticed until I saw this thread.
I emerged it again, to check the configure output, and found the following; | Code: | -- Checking for x264

although `grep x264_encoder_open /usr/lib/libx264.so` does find a match...

When you say the previous version, do you mean the 2.4 series, or 2.5.0?
If it's the latter (although upstream have been recommending an svn build over this release for a while), then it could be something simple which has changed in the ebuild.
Edit: was just going to suggest filing a bug report, but did a quick search first and found the following;

I presume we're all using media-libs/x264-0.0.20090908?

This happened to me as well. Downgrading to =media-libs/x264-0.0.20090629 and remerging media-video/avidemux fixed it.
I though I had done this a few days ago, but I guess I didn't remerge Avidemux. |
