Hi, ALL.
I am running gentoo-spurces-2.6.30-r6 on my laptop.
I also have b4311 wireless network card.
I am connecting to the WPA-PSK router with wpa_supplicant 0.6.9.

In my dmesg I sometines have this message:

Code:

diassociating by local choice (reason=3)

Any idea what the "reason=3" means?

Thank you.

Hi,

[ 1392.988071] wlan0: switched to short slot time (BSSID=00:22:3f:7d:63:6a)
[ 1392.988724] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): wlan0: link becomes ready
[ 1392.999900] b43-phy0 debug: Using hardware based encryption for keyidx: 0, mac: 00:22:3f:7d:63:6a
[ 1392.999957] b43-phy0 debug: Using hardware based encryption for keyidx: 1, mac: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
[ 1403.010041] wlan0: no IPv6 routers present
[ 1501.982346] b43-phy0 debug: Using hardware based encryption for keyidx: 2, mac: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

What confuses me is the 2 lines that says "switched to short....".

I'll wait for the connection dropout and check the results of those commands.

Thank you.

There are bugs about that issue with Ubuntu, and Mandriva, too. You might want to give google a workout with the entire phrase, diassociating by local choice (reason=3). I bet the answer is in someone's bugzilla.

Blessed be!
Pappy
