Is there any difference between surge protectors?

I am just wondering if there is any effect on surge protectors to the computer, I saw for home theatres some surge sticks go to 100$ or more, I have a decent one for my computer but I am wondering if I should get a better one, Mine is plugged into the wall and I have my compute with 350 watt psu, cable modem, router, printer, 17 inch crt monitor , and klipsch 400 watt speakers system. I don't really know if it matters but I am just curious if my surge strip supplies sufficient power to everything else. BTW my other computers are all on an electritions nightmare, I got a 5 computers, monitors, and speakers hooked to 2 wall connectors hehe.
