Hi there, I have samba working but the only thing I have left to make it work is the printer's driver thing.

If I tried to add the printer in two Windows XP, they see the printer but If I say to install the driver from the server, they don't get it, they said it doesn't have got the driver.

Well, I have download the driver from cups website, I did the "make install" as root and samba config is:

Quote:
[global]
workgroup = CASA

netbios name = Hit-Gentoo

server string = Samba Server %v

printcap name = cups

printing = cups

log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 50

Any idea? the drivers I installed are in /usr/share/cups/drivers/

But no idea what to do.

It is possible to distribute the driver through Samba. But I think you will be faster off if you just installed the driver through Windows and let it connect to the Linux box. I don't know what printer you have so I can't provide specific instructions. Hope this suggestion could help you...

I have no experience in this, but if I remember correctly you should just fire up the installer and proceed. If it asks to connect the printer, then say you want to continue despite the fact the printer is not available. Or is this not possible?
