|
|
After doing an emerge --update world today, I was greeted with the following messages;
Code: | !!! The following installed packages are masked:
- games-fps/doom3-data-1.1.1282-r1 (masked by: DOOM3 license(s))
A copy of the 'DOOM3' license is located at '/usr/portage/licenses/DOOM3'.
- games-fps/quake4-data-1.0.2147.12 (masked by: QUAKE4 license(s))
A copy of the 'QUAKE4' license is located at '/usr/portage/licenses/QUAKE4'.
- games-fps/quake4-bin-1.4.2 (masked by: QUAKE4 license(s))
- games-fps/ut2004-3369.3 (masked by: ut2003 license(s))
A copy of the 'ut2003' license is located at '/usr/portage/licenses/ut2003'.
- games-fps/ut2004-bonuspack-mega-1-r2 (masked by: ut2003 license(s))
- games-fps/ut2004-data-3186-r3 (masked by: ut2003 license(s))
- games-fps/doom3-1.3.1304 (masked by: DOOM3 license(s))
- games-fps/ut2004-bonuspack-ece-1-r3 (masked by: ut2003 license(s))
For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge
man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook. |
These are all installed on my system through portage, and they are all legitimate licensed copies. I had even needed to unmask the Doom3 and Quake4 packages to be able to initially emerge them from portage, due to this security bug, so unmasking any of these packages in the /etc/portage/package.unmask doesn't work, (they're already unmasked there).
How do I address these messages, and unmask these packages?
Thanks..

All that time I didn't know it was that easy to get around the license issue.... _________________ Can the mind be still? You have to love a good old fashion classical question.
