Hi
I can't seem to print to a photosmart printer
From what I can tell in the logs ghostscript is trying to load hpijs whch dosesnt exist
I've never used a printer on linux before, any ideas?

If you are using a HP Photosmart type printer, then you should use net-print/hplip. Emerge it and then setup you printer via the CUPS web interface (localhost:631 in your browser). You might want to doublecheck if your printer is supported; the hplip website is http://hplipopensource.com/ |

I am using hplip
It does recognise the printer
It can read things like the state of the ink cartridges and its status |

not sure what fixed it
used unstable hplip and cups and delete existing printers and re-running hp-setup again |
