Hey everyone. With Slackware, I had the sound working perfectly. I know how to setup the sound card module to work properly, so I don't know what's going on. Here's what I did:
insmod soundcore
insmod sound dmabuf=1
insmod ad1848
insmod uart401
insmod cs4232 io=0x530 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0
I have P&P compiled into the kernel, so I don't need it as a module. The modules load ok. Also, my devices (/dev/dsp, /dev/mixer, etc.) are all created as well. However, when I try to play sound, it doesn't work. It is just silent, even when I adjust the volume. I am using the OSS drivers by the way, which worked perfectly under Slackware 8.1 and 9.0. So, I dmesg'ed it, and this is what I got:
ad1848/cs4248 codec driver Copyright (C) (blah blah blah...)
ad1848: No ISAPnP cards found, trying standard ones...
Sound: DMA (output) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error?
I have no idea what's going on. Does anyone have any ideas?

)]}\EsMsKsN0[lN*1lK[d2%Sa2/d0<X+d*lMLa^*lN%0]dsXx++lMlN/dsM0<J]dsJxp"|dc`

hey buddy try this i was tinkering with it just now and this works and it sounds WAY better than it did before
Code: |
cs4232 io=0x530 irq=5 dma=0 dma=1 dma2=0 |
i know the dma lines seem kinda repetitive in this case but it DOEs work _________________ print pack"C*",split/\D+/,`echo "16iII*o\U@{$/=$z;[(pop,pop,unpack"H*",<>
)]}\EsMsKsN0[lN*1lK[d2%Sa2/d0<X+d*lMLa^*lN%0]dsXx++lMlN/dsM0<J]dsJxp"|dc`
while [ 1 ] ; do echo "*" | telnet ip.of.print.er 9100 ; done |
