Job Opportunity: System Administrator in Madison, WI

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) provides custom and standard embedded hardware and software products. X-ES designs and manufactures embedded hardware supporting Freescale, Intel, AMCC and IBM processors with Green Hills INTEGRITY, Linux, QNX Neutrino, LynxOS, and Wind River VxWorks BSP software. We are looking for someone to help us out on the IT infrastructure side of things.

Position: System Administrator

Description:
Assist in administration of servers and company network. Build and support servers providing critical in-house services (e.g., mail, web applications, LDAP, calendar, file servers, subversion, etc.). Develop and maintain in-house administration tools.

Desired qualifications:

• Linux system administration experience with multiple distributions (CentOS, Ubuntu, Gentoo)
  
• Shell scripting (bash)
  
• Programming in perl, Python, and PHP
  
• Database administration familiarity (MySQL, postgresql)
  
• Experience with apache, samba, NFS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, iptables
  
• Networking (ethernet, managed switches, routers, SNMP)
  

We also base our embedded Linux distributions on Gentoo, so Gentoo experience is highly desired.

This is a temporary full-time position, with the potential of turning into a permanent position if things work out well. We're primarily interested in candidates in the Madison, WI area.
