Hi guys,

I've got BT878 capture card installed and have tvtime, xawtv and mplayer all able to show me video.

But the big problem is that i cant get any sound.
none via alsa internally
and none via the external audio jack ( tested with headphones as well )

Any bright ideas ?

here's my config's

BTTV part of modules.d/alsa
Code:

#=================================
#bttv drivers
#=================================
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
options i2c-core i2c_debug=1
options i2c-algo-bit bit_test=1

alias char-major-81 bttv
options bttv fieldnr=1

alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
alias sound-slot-1 btaudio
alias sound-service-1-0 btaudio
alias sound-slot-2 bttv
alias sound-service-2-0 tvmixer
pre-install bttv modprobe tvmixer
pre-install tvmixer modprobe tvaudio
options tvmixer devnr=2
options btaudio dsp1=1 dsp2=2 mixer3=1 analog=1

BTTV module options

Code:

options bttv card=70 tuner=5

I am also trying to get a bttv card to have sound. I have tried with and without ALSA drivers. No go. I do get the tv card's autio jack to have static when I turn off xawtv's sound mute. I am using the stable xawtv from portage (xawtv-3.86).

I am trying a bt878 card (Hercules SmartTV). With kernel 2.4.22. I also tried with 2.4.20 and 2.4.21, as well as the latest bttv drivers from bytesex (107).

I do get sound from xine when playing DVDs and from XMMS when playing MP3 files. But these are, of course, using my sound card.

I have also tried the btaudio driver that should provide digital audio on /dev/dsp2 and analog on /dev/dsp3. xawtv-s -C option to specify the audio device had no effect.
