I've been looking around for more info on this and can't find anything that fits quite right.
Here's the scoop: I've got a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 SATA drive in this system. During heavy I/O (as in, copying 1.5gb of data to another system), I get a few of these messages in my logs:
Code: | Oct 29 03:26:11 cthulhu klogd: ata1.00: configured for UDMA/100

The stuff I've found in Google usually included actual error messages. The above doesn't seem to. At least, not that make sense to me.
I seem to recall seeing something similar in relation to a kernel bug, but I can't put my finger on it at the moment.
Mostly, I'm just trying to figure out what my system is trying to tell me. The drive is failing? The kernel needs a kick? Any suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks!
PS: Some additional info on that drive in case it helps...

Could be drive problem, loose cable (either end) or you might need better cables. _________________ UM780, 6.12 zen kernel, gcc 13, openrc, wayland |

Ah, I hadn't thought of cable problem. I'll check that out. Thanks! _________________ Death to VideoDrome.
