slim blocking init process

Hi,

I installed slim and added:
DISPLAYMANAGER="slim"

to /etc/conf.d/xdm

When I do
/etc/ini.d/xdm start

slim starts, but the /etc/init.d/xdm command never finishes. This has the effect, than on booting, the login in the konsole never appears.

Ideas of how to fix this?
