GemRB 0.6 has been released, and the changelog boasts that Baldur's Gate 1 and Icewind Dale are roughly completeable. Finally. This is quite a breakthrough, and quite an accomplishment - these folks coded an Infinity Engine replacement from scratch.

Some time ago, there were already reports that there had been a successful playthrough of BG II: SoA using GemRB, and shortly thereafter, another. This means that you can now basically play Baldur's Gate II on Linux, natively, from start to finish. There are bugs remaining, but this is still very good news.

They're asking for more people to try playing through the game(s) and sending them bug reports. _________________ parallel installation : mercedes with parachute |
