|
|
Hi all,
I have been looking for a while now, and it looks like I cant figure out how to get movies and sound working in openoffice impress. I have an avi and mpeg files which work perfectly with mplayer, but "Media Player" in impress gives me: "The format of the selected file is not supported." (the same file works in impress on an ubuntu machine).
In options under "OpenOffice.org->Java" I have jre and in "class path.." I have jmf.jar (which is not present on the ubunto machine).
I am confused about this, do I need some special plugin/codecs for openoffice? (the ubuntu machine doesnt have any listed in Extension manager).
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Efo
Almost forgot: openoffice3.1 on amd64.

Did you install oOO bin or src?
Install the source ebuild with gstreamer support and you can implement videos
(at least it worked for me that way)
I wasn't able to implement movies in the bin version of oOO
Cheers

Hi blubbi and thank you for the reply.
I have the binary version installed; I will try from source later on today and let you know if it works.
It is weird not being able to play movies with the binary version, since it takes long to compile from source and most presentations nowadays use some kind of movie.
I will keep you posted.

Ack, I was wondering too.
By the way, don't forget the gstreamer modules for the video/audio codecs _________________ -->Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved.
