Hi guys

I'm running Firefox-3.5.5 (source, not binary) and xulrunner-1.9.0.11 under kde-4.3.3.

When I exit firefox (ie File: Quit or just close the window) then 99% of the time the window closes but the process doesn't end. I can see Firefox then hogging 50% CPU using Conky and when I want to reopen Firefox I have to manually kill the process first. This is *really* annoying.

Any ideas??

That's why.

emerge x11-themes/gtk-engines-qtcurve

and select QtCurve in GTK Styles and Fonts System Settings.

I'm having the same problem since upgrading from Firefox 3.5.7 to 3.5.8 and xulrunner-1.9.1.8 (both compiled from source).

However, I neither use gtk-engines-qt nor gtk-engines-qtcurve.

Any ideas in this case?

Well, after emerging kde-misc/kcm_gtk and x11-themes/gtk-engines-qtcurve, selecting QtCurve in GTK Styles and Fonts System Settings and restarting KDE the problem seems to have disappeared.
