Dear all,

I've not been using k3b for a few weeks now.
I guess it has probably been upgraded during one of my gentoo upgrades.
Now, when I try to start it, it says that it can't find CD/DVD writers... weird as it was working perfectly before.
I start k3b from a terminal and it gives error that look like related to HAL:

Code:
K3bQProcess::QProcess(0x0)
QStringList Solid::Backends::Hal::HalManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(const Solid::DeviceInterface::Type&)  error:  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown"

Ok, then I give a try to brasero, and it gives me this when trying to start it:

Code:
 % brasero

** (brasero:3315): WARNING **: Failed to initialize hal : (null)

process 3315: Attempt to remove filter function 0x7f653acf2290 user data 0x1843000, but no such filter has been added
  D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
[1]    3315 abort      brasero

I don't see any USE flag for HAL on neither brasero or k3b.

I don't think I'm not in the correct groups as it was working fine before:

Code:
disk lp wheel mail cron audio cdrom video games postgres cdrw apache usb users portage androiddev plugdev dba tcpdump kvm wireshark

Am I missing something or is HAL mandatory now?
