Logging sftp server?? (openssh)

Has anyone had success logging the sftp server under openssh?

I would like to be able to see who has done what and when

Do you mean "logging into the sftp server" or "getting the logs from the sftp server"? I have done the former without any problems. The logs themselves are in /var/log/syslog; I use syslog-ng.

I would like to keep a log of the files transferred by users...
at the moment a user can log in and transfer what they want.. Fine, but I would like an idea of what, and how much bandwidth is being used ..

sshd itself does not seem to log much with sftp-server even at the VERBOSE level.
