When I start up Gentoo, most everything starts fine, except for my ethernet connection. When I was using the LiveCD, everything worked beautifully. It connected for emerge and downloaded everything fine. I followed the instructions in the Gentoo installation guide, but now I get a message that "netmount" couldn't start. I created/edited all the files as best as I could. I am on the Univ. of South Carolina network, and I know that it is possible for Linux to connect through it, as I did so with RedHat. I did "emerge e1000" during installation, and e1000 is listed when I do lsmod.
